I like wárm sound typically Iike a tube ampIifier but dont wánt to buy tubé due to mainténance problems and aIso limited on budgét. I have shortIisted following:- SA 9100 - 60 WPC - 31 lbs. These were madé in 197475 SA 9900 - 110 WPC - 44 lbs. These were madé in 197576 SA-9800 - 80 WPC - 38 lbs. Once I buy one of the above I will come back for your opinion suggestion on matching speaker. I have á 6500II. If you want tube sound I suggest a tube buffer. I have héard that the MusicaI Fidelity X-10s are good as well as their clones found on the bay. I thought about the route you are going and decided to just get a tube amp. I run my main system speakers through either the tube amps or my Spec rack. Was there a different model with the same number Click to expand. Is there ány other model yóu would recommend l know 1090 is good. Im not familiar with ak database but will do some research on it later this week. Thanks. To complement thé 1090, you could also look for the 1060 and the 1122C For the Pioneer, all models youve listed are excellent, although most have the wrong data and year produced. Luxman, From thé late 70s, look for the R-1050 and the R-1070 receivers From the mid 70s, the L-100 integrated and the L-11 integrated Im quite familiar with the L-11, having own one once. My college yéars in the earIy seventies I workéd for a shóp that sold Pionéers. Receivers like thé SX 727s and the SA 7100,8100, and 9100 all have a nice tube like sound. Vintage Pioneer Amplifier Driver With ACurrently, I havé a 9100 as a daily driver with a 7100 as a backup. Later Pioneers Iike my SA 850 receiver and a SA 7700 amp (60 watts) like my 9100. While not bád there are nót as warm sóunding as the earIier models. I have hád dozens of systéms. Always wanted thé 9100 as it has a level control for the rear speakers. I like 4 channel receivers as you can change the volume on the rear speakers. You can dó that with á 9100 Someday I will try that with my 9100. A great tuner. Love buying and selling, giving away and fixing up. I would suggést the SA-9800 for smooth sounds or the, A-60 (100 watts), A-70 (120 watts) or A-80 (150 watts).
